KLCM's fixed income approach focuses on clients' long-term needs.  The investments are strategic, flexible and based on real-time price and yield dynamics.  We construct a laddered portfolio of individual securities to mitigate risk while generating attractive levels of income.  Each portfolio is tailored to specific objectives, considering after-tax returns available from US Treasuries, agencies, corporate bonds, municipal bonds and select preferred stocks. 

We invest primarily in high-quality, investment-grade securities that have limited volatility and stable income-generating characteristics.  The research team applies the same in-depth process when selecting fixed income securities as we do for equity investments.  Our experience navigating numerous economic cycles enables us to generate portfolio income while protecting our clients' principal investment.
